The AOC program objective is to broadly raise the level of Americans’ awareness about their interrelationship with the oceans’ living ecosystems and its natural resources.
AOC will inspire and educate the public to recognize the oceans as a treasured resource, analogous to the rainforests, which need to be nurtured and protected for a sustainable future. The program will educate the public about how their activities affect the oceans, and then motivate them to take action to preserve our ocean heritage as a public trust for future generations.
 Our goal is to achieve a change in public attitudes and actions within ten years.
The objective of America’s Ocean Challenge is to improve public understanding of our oceans’ degradation and to urgently motivate a desire to change. By integrating the media of film, audiovisual delivery, and educational materials, America’s Ocean Challenge will inspire the conservation and restoration of our oceans’ diminished living resources.
